Corners is a deeply personal song about surviving childhood trauma and the invisible scars it leaves behind. Blending emotional storytelling with haunting imagery, it captures the feeling of always looking over your shoulder, always checking the corners, and learning how to live with fear while searching for peace.

The Real-Life

Inspiration Behind "Corners"

My Experience Living in South Boston (1989–2007)

I lived in South Boston from 1989 through 2007. While many residents were kind, hardworking people who cared deeply about their community, I also witnessed and experienced racial tensions that reflected a more complicated side of the neighborhood's history.

The challenges faced by many minority families in South Boston have been documented in public records and legal actions. In 1996, multiple residents filed complaints alleging racial harassment and intimidation at the Old Colony housing development in South Boston. The U.S. Department of Justice later brought a Fair Housing Act case against the Boston Housing Authority, alleging that the agency failed to adequately protect residents from severe and pervasive racial harassment.

I share my experiences not to condemn an entire community, but to help preserve an important part of Boston's history and to support the belief that everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and welcome where they live.
